H.A.G.S. cocktail with light rum, Midori, yuzu liqueur, aquavit, green chartreuse, Licor 43, lime juice, and pineapple juice.

H.A.G.S.

H.A.G.S. (a common yearbook inscription that stands for “Have A Great Summer”) is a tribute to Bobby Batugo’s 70s tiki masterpiece, the Best Year – which was later remixed by Jeff “Beachbum” Berry, who brought aquavit to the party. This version is the creation of Siobhan Siddoway at the excellent Subtle Tiki Blog, and extends the invite to white rum and yuzu syrup.

Blend all ingredients with crushed ice on high speed for 30 seconds – or just shake all ingredients with ice, if you prefer. Pour into a tall glass and top with more crushed ice. Garnish with a lime wedge, cocktail cherries, pineapple fronds, or anything else that feels appropriately tropical.
