Lazy Suze | Cocktail Party

Lazy Suze

Lazy Suze cocktail from Lighthouse in Brooklyn, with rye whiskey, Suze gentian liqueur, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup

The Lazy Suze is a delicious cross between a Whiskey Sour and a Brown Derby, with the most enticing hint of floral herbaciousness from Suze L’Originale (a gentian liqueur).

We first heard about from a reader (thanks, AT!) who’d enjoyed it at the Lighthouse restaurant in Brooklyn, New York. It’s their own recipe, which their bar manager Erin Dumas was kind enough to provide us.

Vigorously shake all ingredients with ice and strain into an ice-filled tall glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
