The Lazy Suze is a delicious cross between a Whiskey Sour and a Brown Derby, with the most enticing hint of floral herbaciousness from Suze L’Originale (a gentian liqueur).
We first heard about from a reader (thanks, AT!) who’d enjoyed it at the Lighthouse restaurant in Brooklyn, New York. It’s their own recipe, which their bar manager Erin Dumas was kind enough to provide us.
- 1 part Rye whiskey
- ¾ part Gentian liqueur
- 2 parts Grapefruit juice
- ¼ part Lemon juice
- ¼ part Simple syrup
Vigorously shake all ingredients with ice and strain into an ice-filled tall glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
