The Lemon Pom is a soft, fruity cocktail recipe from the Saké One company. The original recipe called for an overwhelming amount of syrup, which we’ve cut back on; pomegranate juice and sake have enough sweetness on their own.
Muddling a lemon wedge is a brilliant touch, adding just enough sourness and the barest bitter note. The whole drink is luscious and juicy, with a beautiful ruby color and enticing scent.
Muddle the lemon wedge in a shaker. Add the remaining ingredients and shake well. Double-strain through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled cocktail glass. No garnish is specified, but a lemon twist cuts a lovely contrast.
