Necromancer cocktail by Vince Bright, with rhum agricole, grapefruit juice, Cocchi Americano, Velvet Falernum, absinthe

Necromancer

The Necromancer is a nod to the classic Corpse Reviver No. 2, from bartender Vince Bright at Chicago’s Lost Lake. There’s a certain electricity to this recreation, as if Bright – true to his name? – has turned up the lumens on nearly every ingredient. Instead of gin, it’s grassy crisp rhum agricole, in place of lemon is grapefruit, in place of orange triple sec is the spice of clove and lime in falernum liqueur. It’s funky and intense and it might not be for everyone, but we’re big fans.
