Elderflower cordial, a gently-sweet syrup with a delicate floral flavor that’s a bit more pronounced than in elderflower liqueur.
Rinse a chilled cocktail glass with the absinthe (or anise liqueur), and dump out any excess. Shake the remaining ingredients with ice and strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with a lemon twist or a sprig of small white edible flowers, if you’re so lucky as to have such botanical luxuries just laying around.
