Sunflower

The Sunflower is a bright, happy sour from the brilliant mind of Sam Ross (of Attaboy and Diamond Reef, among many other legendary establishments). The secret ingredient? Elderflower cordial, a gently-sweet syrup with a delicate floral flavor that’s a bit more pronounced than in elderflower liqueur.

Ingredients
- 1 tsp Absinthe or Anise liqueur
- ¾ part Gin or Aged gin or Botanical gin or Old Tom gin
- ¾ part Triple sec
- ¾ part Lemon juice
- ¾ part Elderflower syrup
Instructions
Rinse a chilled cocktail glass with the absinthe (or anise liqueur), and dump out any excess. Shake the remaining ingredients with ice and strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with a lemon twist or a sprig of small white edible flowers, if you’re so lucky as to have such botanical luxuries just laying around.
