Umeshu Cooler | Cocktail Party

Umeshu Cooler

Umeshu is a Japanese plum wine made with tart green ume plums. It’s tasty on its own, but it benefits from being paired with something that cuts through its syrupy-sweet viscosity.

Enter the Umeshu Cooler from travel site Savvy Tokyo. It literally could not be simpler: one part plum wine, two parts lemon soda, served on ice. You might want to play with that ratio a bit, depending on the sweetness of your plum wine and your soda.

Instructions

Build the drink in the order given in an ice-filled glass. Garnish with a twist or wheel of lemon. If your plum wine came with whole plums in the bottle, feel free to fish one out and drop it in the glass – it’s delicious!

Really Good App

We downloaded the app after seeing it as one of the top posts on /r/cocktails, and we've been playing around with it and adding our ingredients to the list. While it's not an all inclusive list of ingredients (missing some creme de ), it's a solid overall app and tosses out some truly spectacular recipes based on what you have in your liquor cabinet. Minor quibbles for an otherwise fantastic application!
