The Whiskey Passion is a tropical twist on the standard Whiskey Sour, from Ricky Alvarado at Bordel in Chicago. While whiskey and passion fruit syrup are featured in the name, we actually think it’s the vanilla syrup that ties it all together, grounding and highlighting the bright fruit and oaky rye (or bourbon, if you prefer).
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into an ice-filled short glass. Garnish with a rosemary sprig and a lemon wheel (at Bordel, it’s served with dehydrated lemon wheels for an arty finish).
