This is Ted “Dr. Cocktail” Haigh’s recipe, which we discovered in Gaz Regan’s The Joy of Cocktails. If you go to the trouble of keeping something like 151-proof Demerara rum around, it makes sense to have a good sloe gin – it really makes a difference.

Shake everything (except for the sparkling water) with ice. Strain into an ice-filled short glass, top with soda, and garnish with a cherry and a lime wedge.

Ich war auf der Suche nach einer Cocktail Datenbank mit der ich mir zuverlässig die Drinks anzeigen lassen kann, für die ich auch die Zutaten im Hause habe. Mit Cocktail Flow klappt das leider nicht verlässlich. Dieses Programm macht das vorbildlich und vor allem listet es die Cocktails auch danach auf, wo mir noch eine, zwei usw. Zutaten fehlt. So kann ich auch immer schauen was ich mir ggf. noch kaufen sollte. Die Auswahl an Getränken ist gut, jedoch mit wenig Sirup-haltigen. Hier würd ich mir mehr Rezepte wünschen wo man die div. Fruchtsirupe einsetzen kann. Auch gibt es leider keine Möglichkeit Cocktails als Favoriten zu kennzeichnen oder das Rezept zu exportieren. Da das Programm nur in Englisch ist muss man in der Zutatenliste manchmal googlen was damit gemeint ist. Mit ein paar Rezepten mehr, Favoritenfunktion und Lokalisierung gibt es fünf Sterne.
