Dan Greenbaum, of Brooklyn’s now-closed Diamond Reef, envisioned Coastal Grooves as a winter cobbler. In the northern hemisphere, that’s when citrus are at their peak, so Greenbaum encourages experimentation. “Mandarins, clementines, Cara cara oranges – I’d play around with that,” he tells Punch magazine, where we found this recipe.

Greenbaum calls for a dry rosé wine, and we agree with that, especially in the peak of winter when citrus is sweetest.

Muddle the citrus and falernum syrup in a shaker or mixing glass. Add the wine and stir or swirl just enough to mix up. Dump it all into a tall glass and top with crushed or pebble ice. Give it a stir to integrate, and garnish in a typically elaborate cobbler fashion with fresh mint and citrus slices.
