Sweet, uncomplicated, and just the thing the lift our mood on a glum day, the Coffee Nudge is a classic hot drink from Dale DeGroff, featured in The Craft of the Cocktail.
We often add a bit of simple syrup or agave nectar when whipping heavy cream for a hot drink, but here we’d omit it. DeGroff has a famous sweet tooth, and his recipe doesn’t need any more sugar. Plain whipped cream is a nice counterbalance to the richness of the drink, while also helping to cool it as you sip – but it’s by no means necessary.
