King's Breakfast cocktail with gin, bergamot liqueur, lemon juice, and berry jam

King’s Breakfast

We’ll never get tired of jam cocktails; just a spoonful of the stuff is all you need to impart incredible flavor and body to a drink. So this King’s Breakfast from Steve the Bartender was a natural first choice when we got our hands on a bottle of Italicus bergamot liqueur, and we couldn’t have made a better choice.

Mr. The Bartender calls for strawberry jam, but raspberry would do just as well. And he calls for a “heaping barspoon” of it, but you may want to add even more if you have a sweet tooth; we found the drink ever so slightly on the tart side rather than sweet, as written.
