Lavender Mule

The classic Moscow Mule is such a flexible template for inventive riffs, like this Lavender Mule from Kathleen Hawkins at Wright & Co in Detroit. All it takes is a touch of lavender syrup to transform the ginger standard into something heady, floral, and bursting with the scent of spring.
We usually prefer our lavender syrup with its natural golden-brown coloring – but in a nearly-clear drink like this, we have to admit that the artificial purple color in some syrups looks quite striking.

Ingredients
- 2 parts Vodka
- ½ part Lime juice
- ¼ part Ginger syrup
- ¼ part Lavender syrup
- 3 parts Ginger beer
Instructions
Shake everything (except the ginger beer) with ice. Strain into a tall ice-filled glass and top with the ginger beer. Garnish with a sprig of fresh lavender or a wheel of lime.
