Praying Mantis creamy cocktail with Fernet Branca Menta, horchata liqueur, creme de cacao, and creme de menthe

Praying Mantis

The Praying Mantis, from Sean D. Enright at Spork in Pittsburgh, is a welcome upgrade to the classic Grasshopper. Menthol-forward Fernet Branca Menta (Fernet Branca works as well) and rice-based horchata liqueur offer a sophisticated twist on the simpler flavors of the original.

Green crème de menthe is prettiest here, combining with the creamy horchata liqueur (or plain horchata) to create a pretty vintage mint color.
