Noggin Knocker

Around the holidays, we find ourselves craving creamy Fernet Branca drinks – the bracing herbal digestif makes for a sophisticated upgrade on the season’s typical saccharine-sweet mint cocktails.
The Noggin Knocker, from Chris Spear at Little Perfect Bites, is the epitome of these Fernet Branca quaffs. A touch of warm maple adds a reasonable amount of sweetness, and brings out a matching note of chocolate from the bourbon base.

Ingredients
- 2 parts Bourbon
- 1 part Mint fernet
- 3 parts Milk
- 2 tbsp Maple syrup
- 1 whole Egg
Instructions
Dry-shake all ingredients first without ice, then again with ice added. Double-strain through a fine mesh strainer into a short glass or snifter. Garnish with a dusting of freshly-grated nutmeg.
