Puttin’ on the Spritz

There’s little that isn’t improved by a pour of St. Germain, an elderflower liqueur that carries the nickname “Bartender’s Ketchup” for its versatility and near-universal adoration. Puttin’ on the Spritz from Keith Lowerre at The Wren in NYC is a perfect case study: a simple champagne cocktail goes out in its Sunday best with the boost of elderflower.

Ingredients
- 1 part Elderflower liqueur
- ½ part White wine apéritif
- 3 dashes Orange bitters
- 3½ parts Sparkling white wine
Instructions
Shake all ingredients (except the sparkling wine) with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe or flute glass and top with the sparkling wine. Garnish with a lemon twist.
