Second Squadron

The Second Squadron, from Wisconsin bartender Eric Hay, tastes like a morning stroll through a citrus orchard, with fresh lemons and grapefruits bursting from leafy green trees.
Hay calls for Crème Yvette, a unique and hard-to-find liqueur flavored with red berries, orange peel, vanilla, and violet petals. There’s no real substitute for it – but if all you have is a decent raspberry liqueur, your Second Squadron will still be absolutely delicious.

Ingredients
- 1½ parts Gin
- ¾ part Elderflower liqueur
- ¼ part Violet-berry liqueur or Raspberry liqueur
- ½ part Lemon juice
- ¼ part Grapefruit juice
Instructions
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled small cocktail glass. Squeeze a piece of grapefruit peel over the drink and discard the peel.
