The Sinatra Smash is a delicious berry-vanilla cocktail by Patricia Richards of the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas. In its original form, it was a bit cloyingly sweet. We’ve reduced the simple syrup and upped the bourbon on the advice of Frederic Yarm over at the Cocktail Virgin blog, to bring it more in balance.
Muddle the blackberries and lemon juice in a shaker. Add the remaining ingredients and ice, and shake well. Strain (double-strain if you prefer) into a short glass filled with crushed ice, and garnish with fresh mint and berries.
