Spiced Nog Flip creamy cocktail with spiced rum, simple syrup, sweet cream, a whole egg, nutmeg, and cinnamon

Spiced Nog Flip

If you missed the window to start a “real” egg nog (two to six months before you intend to drink it, depending on who you ask), there’s no shortage of tasty, single-serving recipes to tide you over. The Spiced Nog Flip, from Nate Caudle at Little Jumbo in Victoria, British Columbia, is a delicious vanilla-spiced example of these “easy nogs.”

Dry-shake all ingredients first without ice, then again with ice added. Double-strain through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled cocktail or coupe glass. Garnish with a dusting of freshly-grated nutmeg and serve with a cinnamon stick tucked into the side of the glass.

Pumpkin Spice Cocktails

It’s that time of year in the Northern hemisphere, and in our neck of the woods everything is pumpkin-spiced: from lattes and candles to dog treats and hand wipes. Weary of it though we may be, we’ll never tire of using the spices it’s made of in delicious autumn cocktails.
