Test Pilot

The Test Pilot is a classic tiki drink from Don the Beachcomber that harkens back to at least 1941. It’s a delicious relic of the age of hotshot pilots and the seemingly-far-off dreams of space travel.
The original recipe probably called for falernum syrup, but you can use falernum liqueur if that’s what you’ve got.

Ingredients
- 1½ parts Dark rum or Aged rum or Demerara rum
- ¾ part Light rum or Aged rum
- ½ part Falernum syrup or Falernum liqueur
- 1 tbsp Triple sec
- 1 dash Aromatic bitters or Tiki bitters
- 6 drops Anise liqueur or Absinthe
- ½ part Lime juice
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a blender and add about a cupful of crushed ice. Blend at high speed for about five seconds. Pour unstrained into a short glass, adding more crushed ice to fill if needed. Garnish with a brandied cherry on a pick.
