Blood orange fruit and juice, used in cocktail recipes

Blood orange

Raspberry orange, Moro, Tarocco, Sanguinello, Cara cara navel

Blood oranges are a type of orange with a deep red inner flesh and a sweeter flavor with a hint of raspberry. That’s no coincidence – most blood oranges get their red coloring from anthocyanins, the same pigment that gives raspberries their hue. One exception to this rule is the Cara cara navel, which gets its red coloring from lycopene, like tomatos and strawberries.
