A “shakerato” is a non-alcoholic drink made by frothing up espresso with simple syrup and ice in a shaker. Delicious, but we’re Cocktail Party – we don’t do non-alcoholic drinks!
That’s why we were so excited to come across the recipe for the Boozy Shakerato from Heather Perkins at DiAnoia’s Eatery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It’s a flexible template that makes a great drink every time, whether you’re using limoncello, amaretto, or a vanilla anise liqueur like Sambuca.
Be sure to shake the mixture very vigorously, until you feel like your arms will fall off! It’s worth it for the aerated, frothy texture it imparts to the drink.
Shake all ingredients with ice, vigorously. Strain into a small, chilled dessert glass.
