This lovely little gem from The PDT Cocktail Book is one of our favorite ways to show off Crème de Violette. It’s rarely called for in such a large proportion, but here it’s perfectly balanced, bright and sweet like candy. If you have some Old Tom gin, this is a great place to show off its sweeter, less juniperous flavors. We wouldn’t use a cucumber gin like Hendrick’s, though; that’s just one too many flavors fighting for attention.
- ¾ part Gin or Old Tom gin
- ¾ part Triple sec
- ¾ part Crème de violette
- ¾ part Lemon juice
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass, preferably a pretty one, on the small side.
