Moonwalk

Moonwalk cocktail with rose water and sparkling wine

The original Moonwalk cocktail recipe was invented by bartender Joe Gilmore and was (apocryphally) the first drink served to the Apollo 11 crew when they returned to Earth. A more modern version has vodka take the place of Champagne or sparkling wine. Since it’s actually pretty good, we’ve included that variant as well.

If you’re using sparkling wine, shake all the other ingredients with ice first. Strain into a flute glass and top with sparkling wine.

If you’re using vodka, shake all the ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Cocktail Party app on tablets and phones

Get the App

The Cocktail Party app puts this drink – and hundreds more – in your pocket, and tells you what you can make from the ingredients you have at home. It's the best $3.99 you'll ever spend on a drink.

Really Good App

We downloaded the app after seeing it as one of the top posts on /r/cocktails, and we've been playing around with it and adding our ingredients to the list. While it's not an all inclusive list of ingredients (missing some creme de ), it's a solid overall app and tosses out some truly spectacular recipes based on what you have in your liquor cabinet. Minor quibbles for an otherwise fantastic application!
