Oriental

A funny name for this old drink – there’s nothing even faintly “oriental” about it.The original recipe from The Savoy Cocktail Book calls for orange curaçao (like Grand Marnier), but mixology legend Gaz Regan advocates for triple sec instead, to cut down on the sweetness. We’ve included both variants.

Ingredients
- 1½ parts Bourbon or Rye whiskey
- ¾ part Sweet vermouth
- ¾ part Triple sec or Orange curaçao
- ½ part Lime juice
Instructions
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a citrus twist.
