Sazerac

This drink represents everything we love about New Orleans: the Southern heritage, the spicy flavors, the alluring hint of licorice. The technique is complicated, but the result is worth the labor.

Put a little bit of absinthe liqueur in a chilled cocktail glass or champagne flute. Swirl it around to coat the glass and dump out the excess – this technique is called a “rinse.” Stir the rest of the ingredients with ice and strain into the rinsed glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
