Fresa Patada cocktail with cachaça, yuzu liqueur, lemon juice, passion fruit syrup, honey syrup, chile bitters, and strawberry soda

Fresa Patada

You might think this cocktail recipe from the Jarritos soda company would be as sweet as the bright red soda it calls for – but if you did, you’d be mistaken!

The Fresa Patada (“Strawberry Kick” in Spanish) is a beautifully balanced cocktail: tart, sweet, fruity, strong, and complex in all the right proportions. Even the spicy bitters (we used Thai chile bitters) was spot on, adding the faintest sparkle without heat.

Shake everything (except the strawberry soda) with ice. Strain into an ice-filled tall glass, wine glass, or goblet and top with the strawberry soda. Garnish with a fresh strawberry, if you’ve got one.
