Kirsch(or kirschwasser) is a dry cherry liqueur, similar in character to a triple sec. It imparts a sharp, tart cherry flavor without much sweetness to it. It’s not interchangeable with cherry brandies like Cherry Heering, which are much thicker and sweeter.
