Japanese whisky

Yamazaki, Hibiki, Nikka, Suntory, Hakushu

Japanese whisky has woody, peaty flavors like Scotch whisky, but is notably smoother and lighter in flavor. Masataka Takesuru, the father of Japanese whisky, learned the art of distilling while in Scotland and created a new, milder whisky more suited to the the Japanese palate.
