Blended whiskey is our generic catch-all for any whiskey that isn’t a specific varietal, like bourbon or rye or scotch. It’s typically not our go-to for most cocktail recipes, but it’s usually smooth and inoffensive in most recipes.
Note that Canadian rye whiskey isn’t usually a true rye, but rather a blended whiskey made from only a small portion of ryegrass along with other grains.
