Rye whiskey

As the name suggests, rye whiskey is made from rye grain. It’s often aged in charred barrels, and the flavor is a little more spicy and dry than bourbon. In Canada, “rye” is sometimes used a colloquial term to refer to any blended whisky; we use it only to mean the American style.
