The Nanban is one of the most unusual flavor profiles we've experienced in a cocktail, and we're really into it. Savory, fresh, and barely-sweet, this creation of Raul Faria was his entry into the 2013 Bols Around the World cocktail competition. It's made with fresh cucumber, basil, orange bitters, genever, sake, and Solerno (a blood orange liqueur that we added to Cocktail Party a few months ago).⠀

Simon's Gin & Tonic is an object lesson in how creative reuse can produce serendipitous results. As the legend goes, bartended Shaun Layton was preparing a Martini, for a guest who had to leave before it could be served. As luck would have it, another guest ordered a Gin & Tonic, "dealer's choice," and Layton managed to rework the abandoned Martini into a G&T somehow greater than the sum of its parts.⠀

This is a pickleback, a drink that gained popularity in the mid-00s, often serving as a sort of nightcap for bartenders and their patrons at the end of a long night. A shot of whiskey and a shot of pickle brine - you drink the whiskey first, followed by the pickle juice. I added the pickle! Very cool. BTW I use the Cocktail Party App from cocktailpartyapp. Such a brilliant idea and so easy to use. Love it!

Just added root beer to the Cocktail Party library! Our favorite new drink with it is @pamwiz 's Wiz Fizz, which matches root beer to gin, Cynar, and vanilla syrup (along with standard fizz ingredients: egg white, heavy cream, and lemon juice). Just look at the foam on this thing!⠀
