Brandy

Brandy is a smooth, caramel-colored spirit made from distilling wine. This process makes it significantly more alcoholic: 35-60% alcohol, as opposed to under 14% for wine. The caramel coloring should indicate that it’s been aged in wood casks, but beware – some lower-quality brands just use caramel coloring.
